"5th Digitalproof-Forum" (bvdm/ECI) September 20 and 21, 2005, Stuttgart - International event with new topics

Wiesbaden/Germany, August 23, 2005 - In cooperation with Stuttgart Media University of Applied Sciences, Stuttgart (D), and the University of Wuppertal, Wuppertal (D), the European Color Initiative (ECI) and the German Printing and Media Industries Federation (bvdm) are organizing the “5ht Digitalproof-Forum” on September 20 and 21, 2005, with new and extended topics.

ECI and bvdm are expecting at this leading international event several hundred attendees. Industry experts from several European countries will be present both as speakers and visitors. Practically all of the established manufacturers, highly motivated experts and speakers will contribute to challenging proofing system tests and to an interesting congress. Conference language is German and English.

Among the topics are new applications from ECI and bvdm for the user in the graphic arts industry such as Altona Test Suite Application Kit (Update 2005) and the ECI/bvdm GrayConStrip for visual control of grey balance during a print run. The international standardisation of printing processes, latest developments of softproofing technology as well as criteria for evaluation and certification of proofing systems are further topics.

For the first time, a softproof presentation area allows attendees to compare monitor images from several vendors side by side with hard copy proofs and actual prints. The successful workshop “Altona-Test-Suite-Anwendungspaket und ugra/FOGRA Medienkeil CMYK im Praxiseinsatz” ('Best practice guidelines for using Altona Test Suite Application Kit and ugra/FOGRA Media Wedge') will be held again (in German language only). For the second time, a test of colour measuring devices is organized following an extended approach based on last year's experiences. In addition to this test attendees have the opportunity to bring their own colour measuring equipment for an on-site check and comparison with reference values.

Moderators for the “5th Digitalproof-Forum will be Prof. Ronald Schaul, Stuttgart Media University of Applied Sciences, Stuttgart (D) and Prof. Dr. Stefan Brües, University of Wuppertal, Wuppertal (D).
